Privacy settings 

Here, you can manage your consents, opt-outs and access to your services on Helsenorge, and how you want to use other types of health services.  

Select the services you want to use  

Here, you can select the services you want to use. You must consent to the processing of your health data in order to use the services you select. You can also withdraw your consent if you do not wish to use the services on Helsenorge anymore.

Access to your health data 

Here, you can change the access that both you and other people have to your services and health data. You cannot make changes to privacy settings for anyone who has given you power of attorney.  

  • Prescription intermediary: Here, you can block access given to healthcare professionals to view your prescriptions in the Prescription Intermediary. Your prescriptions will also be available via your summary care record.   
  • The summary care record has separate access control. These are the options you have here:  
    • Limit access to certain prescriptions  
    • Block access for selected healthcare professionals  
    • Block access for all healthcare professionals (except your GP)  
  • Summary care record - You choose how accessible you want your summary care record to be. Here, you can restrict access to all or part of your summary care record. These are the options you have here:  
    • Limit access for healthcare professionals  
    • Block access to summary care record for selected healthcare professionals  
    • Block access to appointment history for all healthcare professionals  
    • Remove your own access to your summary core record on Helsenorge  

If you are concerned that other people might misuse your BankID for logging in, you can block your access to all services on Helsenorge.  

Research and health registries 

Here, you can change how your health data can be used in research and health registries. 

Who do you want to use Helsenorge on behalf of? 

If you have parental responsibility for a child under the age of 16 or have been given power of attorney by someone else, you can choose to represent them here. You can also authorise other people to use the services on your behalf in the same way. 

Here, you will find more information about using Helsenorge on behalf of other people.  

Basically, you can represent other people on Helsenorge in three different ways:  

  • With some reservations and restrictions, you can represent children for whom you have parental responsibility.  
  • You can represent other people who have granted you power of attorney to do so. You must be aged 16 or over to grant power of attorney, and 18 or over to be granted power of attorney to use services on behalf of someone else.  
  • You can represent other people who lack the capacity to give consent.

Contact details 

The contact details that are shown are taken from the National Population Register and the Contact and Opt-out Register and are not stored on Helsenorge.   

You can choose to receive notifications directly via the Helsenorge app, as an SMS message or by e-mail. Read more about notifications from Helsenorge.  

Personal data  

This page contains information about you which may be important for healthcare professionals to know.  

Information in the National Population Register  ("Opplysninger i folkeregisteret")

Here, you can see what information is registered about you in the National Population Register and check whether it is correct.  

Next of kin ("Pårørende")

If you have a summary care record, you should enter details about your next of kin and how they can be contacted. Healthcare professionals who need to contact you or your next of kin will have access to this information.   

Employers ("Arbeidsgivere")

Enter your employer’s contact details if you wish healthcare professional to have this information. It can be useful for healthcare professionals to know who your employer is, for example if you need a sick-note.

Communication ("Kommunikasjon")

Here, you can tell us if you have any challenges relating to language, hearing, speech or vision. This may be useful for healthcare professionals to know, so that they can accommodate your needs.  

Powers of attorney 

Here, you can authorise other people to use services at Helsenorge on your behalf. You can also be given corresponding powers of attorney by other people. It also shows how long the powers of attorney are valid for, and you can change or terminate powers of attorney that you have granted, or set up a new power of attorney.  

You must be aged 16 or over to grant power of attorney and 18 or over to be granted power of attorney to use services on behalf of someone else.  

The various services at Helsenorge are split into three groups, referred to as ‘service areas’. You can select that a power of attorney will be valid for one, two or all three service areas.  

If new services are added to Helsenorge, the power of attorney will automatically apply to these services if they are affiliated with the selected service area.

Usage and permissions

Under Usage and permissions ("Bruk og tillatelser") you get an overview of your use of Helsenorge and other solutions, tools and apps where you use your Helsenorge user to gain access.

The Access log ("logg over bruk") shows general information about when you logged in and when a service has been used, but does not give any details about the actual use.

If anyone else has access to services on your behalf through parental responsibility or power of attorney, their access will also be displayed.

In Active logins ("aktive innlogginger") you can see and manage all places where you are logged in with your Helsenorge user and the login is still active.

Under Permissions ("tillatelser") you can view and manage all external solutions, tools and apps with which you have allowed data exchange.

Notification settings 

Helsenorge can notify you when something has happened, for example if you have a new appointment with your doctor. You can choose to receive notifications directly via the Helsenorge app, as an SMS message or by e-mail.
