The nutritional content of your milk is affected by what you eat and drink.

What should I eat and drink when i'm breastfeeding?

It's good to eat a healthy and varied diet when breastfeeding. This is important for both you and your child. You can follow normal dietary advice. Find out more at Helsenorge.no. A healthy diet can be achieved in different ways. It can be mixed (traditional) or vegetarian.

Everyone should eat mostly plant-based foods:

  • Whole grains, vegetables, fruits and berries
  • Beans, lentils, peas, nuts and seeds

These have a lot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
